X-ray CT scanning of all cores drilled by the D/V Chikyu is conducted onboard ship. This scanning generates a DICOM file for each core section.

The DICOM files can be browsed and downloaded from link provided on this website. Most of the DICOM files are couple of hundred megabyte, but do not worry.
Send your request to the curator through the link provided below in order to receive DICOM files of selected core sections on a DVD-ROM.

1. Search by Expedition, Site, Hole, Core number.

2. See Preview image on SIO7 Data center.

3. Contact to curator to receive DICOM files.
